Top must have fall accessories for 2011, well at least mine.....

I love fall, its all about boots, sweaters, scarfs, hats.....I love it all, well not turtlenecks, but that's neither here nor there. All of the fashion magazines have their lists so I feel its only fair that I have one too.....

Hats- This is a great accessory for fall, the knit hats are my favorite and the brighter, the better.
Scarves- The versatility of scarf is amazing, it can go on the head, the neck, the shoulders, the waist I love it! The more handmade the better.
Cuffs- So a lot of my girls are afraid of the cuff but I love, love, love them. I think it adds pop to a sweater and pop to your bare arm.
BELTS - Not only does a belt harness the waist and add corset-style definition it breaks up the norm.
GLOVES - I have always thought that gloves project a ladylike appeal and a touch of class.
So friends, there you have it these are the things I like and I hope you agree but I still love you all if you don't.

Now who was it that said you can't wear white after Labor Day.....

So who told you can’t wear white after Labor Day anyway, your mom, well those days are over! Fashion rules have changed and if all else fails were meant to be broken, and this is one that you’ll love ditching as you enter the fall season.Wearing white is fresh, fashionable, and cool. This look if pulled off right can have you stand out in a crowd like the star that you are.

There are three keys to wearing white during fall: stay minimal, choosing the right white and accessorizing accordingly
Stay minimal- when wearing all white in the fall keep your look very light and clean.
Choose to right shade of white- there are several shades of white bright white, bone, winter white, off-white....pick one that works with your skin tone.
Accessorizing accordingly- adding a jean jacket, gold jewelry, the right shade can make all the difference in looking effortless and looking like you are trying too hard. Don't be that girl.
So when putting this look together owe it, if you don't think you can pull off all white wear it in sections you know white slacks or a blazer. Remember to stand out in a crowd, wall flowers have no fun. Be fab!

Ask JeniqueK

Hi Key... Congratulations! I'm proud of you. Yeah...I have a question. What do you do for dark spots around the eyes? Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry® Linda Simpson

Great question Linda, there are several things that cause dark spots once we figure out what cause a particular dark spot we can know how to treat it or at least cover it.

Allergies are a common cause of skin discoloration under the eyes. Seasonal allergy problems such as the hay fever can frequently be effectively treated with over-the-counter and prescription medications. Talk to a dermatologist for help determining what you may be allergic to. Taking a multivitamin, if you don't already, may help with your allergies as well as black circles.

If you've been under a lot of stress, or you have insomnia or sleep apnea, your skin will reflect your lack of sleep by looking poor or discolored.

Lifestyle factors – Poor nutrition, excess alcohol consumption, too many caffeinated drinks, cigarette smoking, and lack of exercise can all contribute to under-eye discoloration.

Heredity – Establish whether or not this condition runs in your family, as under-eye dark circles are believed to frequently be hereditary. This doesn’t mean that you can’t do anything about the conditions, but you should be prepared for minimal success when trying to get rid of them.

There are tons remedies out there, not all of them will work, or even be appealing to you, but it's important that you try what you think will work in your situation. I personally like natural remedies. Cucumber slices reduce puffiness and refresh the appearance of skin around the eyes, providing a fast "pick-me-up" for tired and puffy eyes. Do this daily, and keep your eyes closed for like, 10-15 minutes. Apply cool tea bags or an ice cube wrapped in soft cloth to your eyes daily. The tannin in tea bags reduces swelling and discoloration (you can refrigerate them overnight so they’ll be ready)put them over your eyes, again for about 10-15 minutes with your eyes closed. Get plenty of sleep nightly. Try to get a good amount regularly for a couple of weeks to see if that helps. Reduce your stress to help you to sleep more. Eat a healthy, balanced diet, take vitamins, and drink plenty of water. Dark circles and puffiness are often attributed to lack of vitamin K or inadequate antioxidants. Also, a deficiency in B12 (usually anemia-related) can result in dark circles. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables—especially cabbage, spinach, and other leafy green vegetables—and take a daily vitamin supplement if necessary. Get adequate fluids to improve circulation. Reduce salt intake. Excess salt causes the body to retain water in unusual places, and this can result in puffiness under the eyes.

Use cosmetic solutions. There are a number of ways to cover up dark circles under eyes using cosmetics. Use a concealer that will camouflage the dark under-eye circles. It's important to use a concealer that matches your undertone (yellow, peach, tan, light brown, etc.) After applying the concealer, set it with a light dusting of translucent powder.

Buy and apply an eye cream containing vitamin K and retinol. Dark circles may be caused by a deficiency of vitamin K. Long-term daily use seems to have the greatest effect.
So Linda I know this is alot of info but I did a lot of research and I hope it helps you out, thanks for all the support.

Besides tights and jeans, what else can you wear with a dressy mid-thigh length shirts?
Michaela Grinnell - Atlanta

Great Question Michaela! For the more daring fashionista a great pair of heels, boots, thigh boots gives it a high fashion edge,
tossing a blazer, knee socks and loafers give you a preppy feel, adding a fringed vest or belt with boots gives you a boho feel, and a vintage feel with few broaches and a pair of Jackie O style glasses.

For my semi-daring girls try layering 2 different color fishnets, try colored lace leggings,
tuck the shirt into a pencil skirt and wear it as a blouse and last but not least pair with your favorite jeans, no matter the style of jeans you have to create a waist with belt or blazer, this will prevent you from looking frumpy. To achieve any of these look you must have confidence! If one look doesn't work, try another, its all dress up. Whatever you decide, make sure you complete the look with great hair and fabulous lips.
As always your girl,

The Ultimate Heel Guide....Well at least my Ultimate Heel Guide

How long have you been wearing heels? If you are like me, you have a super fabulous mom that lives in heels. I in turn lives in heels now and i am sure my fabulous daughter will do the same, its only natural. There are many types of heels: kitten heels, clogs, wedges, mid-height, high heels, stiletto, platforms etc.... there are also many styles: pumps, t-strap, Mary Janes, flats, peep toes, ankle-strap and on and on. How do you rock these shoes?
Well, lets start with the lowest a kitten heel, these shoes are perfect for the office, they come in alot of cute styles and the are not quite flats but you can really wear them all day; however they are not evening wear appropriate. They are work friendly and causal shoes the you should definitely have in your closet.

Clogs are weird, there are some that are really cute and there are some that belong in Holland.

They are also super trendy, they work great with jeans, be careful wearing them with skirts it could turn granola really quickly.
Wedges are a trend from the 30's that have evolved through the decades. They are very versatile and very comfortable. They can go from work to play, but again they are not for a formal gala but are a must have in your closet.

Mid and high heels are probably the most versatile of all the heels, they are classic! They work with dresses, skirts, shorts, slacks, capri's....they are casual, dressy, formal they are a dream and a super must have in every closet.

Stilettos are the sexy sister to high heels. They definitely spark up anything from jeans to shorts, but if not put together right can go slutty, its a thin line, if you choose to wear them in the office wear it with pants or when a skirt that comes below the knee. Ideal for cocktail wear every girl need at least two pair.

The platform honestly is another variation of the wedge, its almost a blend of the wedge and the stiletto, the same rules apply with the stiletto.

Just remember to invest in quality when buying shoes. Also last but certainly not least for the love of God it does not matter how fly the shoe, how much it cost or anything like that, if you don't know how to walk in them you might as well stay seated.
Wear the shoes, don't let them wear you! Have a fabulous weekend!

Every woman can wear red lipstick I swear!

You know so many of us truly think red lipstick is something whores wear or just think they cant pull it off. That's an urban myth! Lets break down that wall and realize that red is glamorous. The right red lip and some mascara can go a long way. The first thing you need to realize is that there are different shades of red. There is true red, blue-red, orange-red, pink-red, brown-red, burgundy I mean it could go on. We haven't even gotten into lip gloss, lip stains, matte lipsticks, mineral lipsticks, etc, etc, etc.... When you buy the red lipstick you want choose a brand that is rich in pigment (this will insure that your color and applications will last) to test this out rub a little on the back of your hand, the purpose of this is to see how easily it goes on and how the color comes out of the tube. If you are pressing hard and hardly see the color throw it away for the store (just kidding)move on to the next brand. Things are kind of easier now because now half the products out now are labeled as pigment-rich, but test it out anyway. Because of all the different types of red out there you need to know you skin tone:
1) For my pale skin girls blue-red is for you.

2) For my fair or beige skin mamas pink-red works nice.

3) For my tan and olive skin chics orange and brown reds are fabulous on you

4) For my brown sisters, we can get away with alot, true-red, brown-red, burgundy, we can do this because of the pigment in our skin.

Some quick do's and don't for red lipstick:
Do wear it with classic as well as classy pieces.
Don't wear alot of makeup with it.

Do use it to edge up an outfit.

Don't go out and about and not touch up your lips.
Red lipstick makes a statement! Go light with it if you are not sure on your shade, it is only lipstick, have fun with it, trust me the right shade can turn heads. Love you, mean it!

5 must have accessories that every woman needs!

Sooooooo yeah, accessories are the finishing touches that pull your outfit together. These are just my personal 5 must haves, of course you can never have enough accessories in your closet but this list works for the beginning fashionista, up and coming fashionista to diva fashionista.
1) Killer Shades - Believe it or not when you put on a pair of shades your attitude changes. Whether you are blocking out the sun or blocking out a person wearing shades sets the tone for your day. The shades you deem killer only have to be killer to you, they could be an awesome vintage find, a gift from your rich boyfriend(we can dream right)or the first name brands that you purchased yourself. They are your killer shades!
2) Sexy Lips - We as women have a very powerful and beautiful feature on our face called lips. They come in all shapes and sizes. They always make a statement, if done right. The trick to sexy lips are moisture, color and texture. You NEVER want to get caught with dry, ashy, crusty lips! You want to pick a lip color that suits you and your look. For work keep it neutral or add a touch of color, for fun keep it solid, bold, popping and vibrant and for flirt do glossy (very sexy). Remember your skin tone and to pre-moisturize your lips and touch-up through out your day.

3) Statement Jewels - So this could fall in to a number of categories (1)necklace (2)earrings (3)rings (4)brooches. Now lets be clear, statement does not mean expensive it means statement! It is suppose to invoke conversation.

4)The Bag - My mom calls this a knock-about bag, this is a bag that matches nothing but you wear with everything. I personally have 3:
(1) my purple hobo

(2) my brown bucket
(3) my black tote
at any point during my week you can catch me with one of the them unless I'm going somewhere special. The key with this is that you do want to invest in these because they will see alot of wear so real leather would be your first choice.

5) Your Attitude - No matter what you wear, what you have, what you do, you need to always have a love myself attitude. This is something that no one can give you, its not about being stuck up or being mean, its about loving and respecting yourself; you do and I promise everyone else will too.

As Always

Effortless Sexy

So you see your favorite celebrities like Joi Bryant, Jenn Aniston, Katie Holmes out shopping or just out doing their thing, looking classy, chic and effortless. To the normal eye it looks like they just threw on their favorite pair of jeans, best heels, an old boyfriends button up or sweater and of course, killer shades. To your local style professional its called effortless. There are 4 key elements to achieve this look
1) Confidence- To pull off any look that is new to you, you need confidence. You can be wearing a potato sack or a 15,000 couture gown, if you don't own that look you're wasting your time and money.

2) Balance- Every look needs balance. You want to balance your accessories with your makeup with your hair with your outfit. It all makes a statement about you.

3) The Fit- No matter how fly you think your outfit is, it don't mean crap if it doesn't fit right. You want to always make sure your pants, jeans, leggings etc... fit you in a manner that is flattering.

4) Your Signature- Everyone important has a signature. The former mayor of Atlanta Shirley Franklin always wore a flower on her lapel, Gwen Stefani has her red lips, the Kardashians have their smokey eyes. What is your signature touch? It really depends on you. Your signature can be as simple as your favorite color or as deep as your dead granny's brooch.

Whatever it is, own it and make it yours. When you put this look together have fun with it and if you are not feeling it, just change. Love you, mean it!

How to layer it up, the right way

So you want to hang out with some friends, lets say tailgating and its a little cool outside and you don't want to wear a coat, lets say you want a pop of color to and otherwise boring outfit or you want to add a touch of sexy to a playful/casual look. Layering is the answer! The beauty about layering is that its not limited to tank tops, you can layer sweaters, camisole, tee shirts and even tights. Trust your girl! There are 2 keys to layering size and fit. When you start, choose your bottom piece to fit you like skin. If you are doing a button up make it fits to the body,

if you are using a camisole pick a lace one so it peaks out, if you are layering tights and stockings put the more busy pattern on first so it can shine through. When you put your top layer on it should be one size larger then your actual size. The reason for this is so the pieces lay neatly without bunching or gathering. For tights and legging your top layer should be fishnets so you can see the design in tights.

When playing around with this look don't get caught up in colors and patterns focus on size, that's what matters. Remember to always have fun and be confident with your choices. Don't limit yourself,
