Accessories Monday:The Heel and Sole Breakdown
Hello Friends,
Many of you have asked me to breakdown the different types of heels. We all love heels and they come in many styles old and new.
Wedge heel are the easiest and most casual to wear on a day to day basis from denim to sundresses. However they don't translate well as formal wear.
T-Strap heels are a classic style that has never really left us. It is just what it says, a T across the top of your foot. I love the look of it and is great as a beginner heel because it can hold your foot in and it can be as casual or fancy as you like not to mention vintage, however, if you are a larger person, it could cut off circulation and leave a deep imprint on your foot.
Platform heels, the short divas dream shoe, just kidding. That platform heel is the most popular style of shoe among women with the exception of the classic heel. It comes in many looks and can go from day to night and work to play, however they can be a bit overwhelming, just make sure you choose the right one for your look.
Peek-Toe heel are a cute and youthful look that can be worn by everyone. It started as a classic style but has evolved from platform, to wedge, to classic, with a tiny peep of toe to bigger showing of toe. Peek-Toe may come across as a seasonal shoe and for the love of God, please, please make sure your toes are done when you wear these.
.
Sling-Back heels are the most elegant of the styles to me. It is another classic style that can be worn with everything, but can be hard to walk in if they are ill fitting. Just make sure you get the right size and lotion those heels
The Classic heel is by for my favorite shoe. It can be worn with any and everything. I love the fact that it comes in different colors, textures, prints and shapes. It is the most universal of all the heels and will never go out of style.
Well, that was a quick breakdown and I hope it helps you discover your look, but no matter what you decide, make sure you break them in and practice your walk, nothing worse than a beautiful look murdered because you walk like your feet hurt or have no strut.
Happy Monday
Always your girl

Style Champion Saturday: The trick to wearing pleats
Hello Friends,
As we all try to stay warm against this crazy weather just knowing how great you can look warms up the heart, well maybe that and some thigh boots. A look that I look to transition from season to season is a classic pleated skirt, but pleats are not limited to only skirts, dresses and tops incorporate pleats to add interest. Now it can be tricky because pleats tend to add weight if you don't know how to style it.
I love to wear pleated tops because they can be as loose or as structured as you like. Just know to balance your outfit, if you have a flowy top, wear fitted bottoms and if you have a fitted top wear a looser bottoms. Have fun mixing textures.
Pleated dresses are easy because the work is done for you. Just be careful with a lot off pleats, it could add more weight to areas that you don't want it too. But feel free to add a leather moto jacket or cozy sweater to add interest.
My personal favorite is the pleated skirt, the colors, the lengths, the texture.....LOVE. The skirt allows you to be the most creative. You can wear wifebeaters, statement tees, jean shirts, boyfriend sweaters, etc....just add a belt too create balance.
Whatever look you decide on don't forget to accessorize!
Love you, mean it, always your girl

Accessories Monday:Colorful Footwear
Hello Friends,
The weather is cold and drab outside, however, it's no reason for that to seep into your closet. If you do nothing else to inject life into your outfit wear some colorful shoes. My 3 favorite ways to wear colorful footwear are boots, suede, and ethnic prints.
I love color boots because you can keep warm this winter and be on trend with color.
I love the look and texture of suede, it has always been classic and will never go out of style.
Everyone knows I am Liberian and love my culture as well as others, it's a great way to embrace other styles by adding ethnic prints to your wardrobe.
So, if you want to play it safe and go monotone or mix colors and prints, add colorful footwear to your look your will always turn heads. Stay FAB and warm!
Always your girl
